The 1st International Workshop on High-speed and Intercity Railways (
IWHIR 2011) will be held in Shenzhen and Hong Kong SAR, China from July
19 to July 22, 2011. This international workshop is organized by The
Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in collaboration with the Southwest
Jiaotong University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Dalian Jiaotong
University, China Engineering Consultants, Inc., Zhejiang University and
Tsinghua University.
Continuing the great initiatives and momentums of the rapid development
in railway engineering and railway infrastructures worldwide in recent
years, IWHIR 2011 aims at providing a platform for academic scholars and
practicing engineers to share knowledge and experience, to promote
collaboration, and to strengthen R&D activities related to railway
engineering. Engineers, scientists, professors, and students from
universities, research institutes, and related industrial companies are
cordially invited to submit abstracts and to participate in this forum.
The technical program will include invited and contributed presentations
on theoretical, numerical, and experimental work pertaining to railway
engineering. Industrial visit will also be arranged.
The workshop will include all fundamental, applied, and engineering
aspects of railway engineering. Themes may include, but not limited, to

Call for Papers:
WORKSHOP LANGUAGE:
The abstract, full paper and PPT should be in English while the oral
presentation can be either in English or Chinese.
ABSTRAT SUBMISSION AND PUBLICATION:
Participants to present papers shall submit a 300-word abstract by June
1, 2011. The abstract should be submitted preferably by e-mail to the
Secretariat : Dr Timothy Xiao-wei Ye. Email : cexwye@polyu.edu.hk. The
presenter must be one of the authors and a registered workshop
participant. At least one author should register to assure the
publication of the paper in the workshop proceedings. Abstracts should
include title of the paper, authors, affiliations, abstract body, and
area of interest. The name of the person who is to present the paper
shall be underlined and the full contact information should be included.
The one-page abstract should be submitted in MS Word format.
All accepted papers will be included in the workshop proceedings which
will be made available to all registered participants in three months’
time after the workshop. The proceedings will be indexed by Ei Compendex.
